LeBron points haul sends Heat through to NBA finals
LeBron James scored an impressive 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Miami Heat’s 101-88 victory over Boston last night. The win means that Heat will play Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA finals.
Chris Bosh also hit a career best of three 3-pointers as Heat dominated the final quarter to ensure that they won their second straight Eastern Conference and booked their place in the NBA finals. Wade scored 23 points while Bosh contributed 19 and Shane Battier added a further 12.
Miami Heat won the final quarter by 25 points to 18 to clinch the match with all of the points scored by their “big three” of James, Wade and Bosh. Rajon Rondo finished with 22 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for Boston Celtics but it wasn’t enough to stop Heat from winning their first Game 7 since 2004.
"I'm happy for this brotherhood here. We have been through a lot, we think it's made us tougher," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "And it will help us in the next round."
The hot form of LeBron James has attracted much attention from NBA fans. “It all comes down to this game and this moment for LeBron James. If he plays like he did last game we will win, enough said” said Hayden Maus on Twitter.
The prospect of Heat meeting thunder in the finals has also excited many. Steve Scott tweeted this: “Heat vs. Thunder will be a fast paced high flying SHOW! 2 best youngest teams might battle for the title for years to come”.
Oklahoma City Thunder will be the fresher of the two teams. They haven’t played since Thursday after taking out the San Antonio Spurs in six games. The opening game of the NBA finals takes place on Tuesday at 9pm.
