Gunners closing in on Giroud according to player's boss
Arsenal are set to land Montpellier and France forward Olivier Giroud according to his current manager Rene Girard. Giroud, who scored 21 goals in 36 games for his current club last season as Montpellier secured their first ever Ligue 1 title, is currently with Laurent Blanc's French team at Euro 2012 and Girard believes that his star striker will be heading to Arsenal next season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has previously scouted Giroud who is valued at between £10-13m whilst any potential move will now have to wait until after the Euros in Ukraine and Poland. If the 25 year-old were to sign then Giroud would further strengthen a front line that has all ready been reinforced with the signing of Lukas Podolski ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Girard told French radio station RMC, "Arsenal are very interested and Giroud wants to play in England. If Arsene agrees with the president, he will sign for them".
