Falcao adds to his Atletico Madrid goal scoring record in Europa League final
Atletico Madrid’s Rademel Falcao is one of the hottest properties in Europe and his goals in the Europa League final will only increase interest in his services.
The Columbian began his professional career with River Plate and was scoring goals from the very beginning, with a brace on his debut.
He eventually moved to Portugal where he began to make his name as a prolific striker and a €45 million buy-out clause was inserted into his contract to ward of the inevitable gaze of larger clubs
Whilst at Porto Falcao set a new record by scoring 17 goals in a single Europa League campaign, surpassing the previous record set by German legend Jurgen Klinsmann.
With such an impressive goalscoring tally, the striker had no shortage of offers to leave Porto, even with the asking price so high and eventually the club accepted an offer from Athletico Madrid for €40 million.
His skill and technique is typically South American but he possesses the ability to score goals with his head and this adds an extra dimension to his game.
It remains to be seen whether the ex-River Plate star will ever grace the pitches of the Premier League but his sharp footballing brain and physical ability will set him in good stead if he ever decides to.
If we were to try and show you all of Falcao’s goals then it would go on forever but here are 22 that he has scored since wearing the red and white of Atletico Madrid…Enjoy!
