Didier Drogba visits David Barral after collision
After a sickening clash of heads between Galatasary striker Didier Drogba and Orduspor’s David Barral at the weekend, which saw Barral admitted to hospital after he was knocked unconscious, the Ivory Coast striker immediately visited the striker after the match and Barral has since tweeted a picture of the pair.
Barral tweeted the picture from his @barral23 account, showing Drogba, still in his Galatasary tracksuit with his arm around the bandaged striker. Thankfully he’s okay after the incident.
He tweeted alongside the image in Spanish; “With Drogba and all the people that were interested in me, I’m in hospital and I will continue doing tests. pic.twitter.com/aqDobBTi8G” The tweet was retweeted by, amongst others, well respected football journalist Gabriele Marcotti and saw over 1100 retweets.
Drogba, who left Chelsea in the summer after scoring the winning penalty in the penalty shoot-out against Bayern Munich is seen as one of the nicest players off the pitch, as he has his own charity foundation to help those in Africa and regularly does charity work. A feeling that will no doubt be helped after Barral's tweet saw the pair widely applauded across digital platforms.
