Randy Moss says goodbye to the San Francisco 49ers on Twitter
Wide receiver Randy Moss has apparently confirmed the rumours that he’ll be leaving the San Francisco 49ers via his personal Twitter account.
Moss – who before the 49ers’ Super Bowl defeat to the Baltimore Ravens last month proclaimed he was “the greatest receiver to ever do it” – tweeted to his 146,000 followers: “Wished we could’ve finished the job!!thanks for the opportunity an good luck in the future 9ers”. His post has been retweeted 1258 times up to now.
Moss will become an unrestricted free agent following a season in which he complained of being underused by the 49ers. His tweet suggests he will be seeking pastures new, and is the latest example of athletes using their personal accounts to send news directly to fans.
