Striker Louis Saha, who recently became a free agent after being released by Tottenham, today took to Twitter to reveal he is currently holding talks with Sunderland.

He posted simply (@louissaha08), "I'm on my way to discuss with Sunderland".

The 34 year old Frenchman could provide the solution to Sunderland's lack of firepower up front, having scored more goals than all of the other Sunderland strikers combined.

Sunderland are hopeful of having Saha in their squad for their opening Premier League match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. To ensure this they would have to secure his signature by the deadline of midday on Friday.
